With the Easter Bunny’s visit right around the corner, what better time to make a list of the best dance songs that will have people jumping?  After careful deliberation, SE Events has constructed a Top 10 list of the most jump-able jams (i.e. the greatest probability to see people jumping).  Let’s begin!

#10. Jump In The Line (Shake Senora) – Harry Belafonte

This 1961 calypso classic was introduced to a new generation of fans when it was featured in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice.  Inevitably, playing the song will always get a conga line going, and people will literally “jump” into it.

#9. Twist and Shout – The Beatles

So, yes, there is a lot of twisting and shouting happening during this song… but when the boys layer those “Ahhhhhhh”s and Lennon screams out, you best believe that people will be jumping!

#8. Turn Down For What – DJ Snake & Lil Jon

Much like the Beatles song, this is all about “build up”.  Truly one of the most epic drops in music history, which is a recipe for an airborne dance floor!

#7. Apache (Jump On It) – Sugarhill Gang

So you probably know the regular moves of this hip-hop classic, and people are at best hopping around during the lasso part.  However, like many great party jams, you will always have a few guests going rogue, and they are more than likely jumping during the chorus.

#6. Cha Cha Slide Part 2 – DJ Casper

Now we are getting into songs that tell you to jump!  “The Cha Cha Slide” gives specific instructions to hop, so that’s 16 times your dance floor won’t have a foot touching it.

#5. Jump – Van Halen

David Lee Roth was the poster boy for rockers in music video jumping, and this song is the pinnacle of them all!

#4. Jump (For My Love) – Pointer Sisters

Totally eighties with a splash of disco, this was a worldwide hit and the #1 US dance single of 1984.

#3. Shout – Isley Brothers

There are so many moments in this dance floor-must-play that compel you and your friends to fly high… and just for good measure, the Brothers throw in the line “Jump up and shout now” a few times at the end!

#2. Jump – Kris Kross

As an Atlanta naive, I will never forget when the two Chris’s hit the scene with a promise that they always deliver on… “Kris Kross will make you …Jump, Jump!”

#1. Jump Around – House of Pain

If this song doesn’t have you bouncing off the walls, nothing will.  A perfect combination of hype music and verbal jumping confirmation, “Jump Around” is a true classic that made my list of Top “Golden Age” Hip-Hop Songs for your Dance Floor.

So there is your Top 10 Jumpin’ Dance Floor Tracks!  From all of us here at SE Events… we wish you and yours a joyous Easter Day!  To end things, how about a special “honorable mention” to appease the Easter Bunny…
