Oh, this is a good one! These are the songs you love to sing along with (or maybe “duh-duh-du-duh to).

Now they are the standards like Sweet Caroline, Don’t Stop Believin’, Piano Man and I Wanna Dance With Somebody.  But I have some others I’ve seen in my years of DJ’ing weddings that might surprise you!

How does a song make this list. Well, it is simple… a song sticks in my head that always get people singing, not just on the dance floor, but even if they are sitting watching the craziness from the sidelines.

Oh, this is in no particular order. Song number one is just the first song I am putting on the list!

1. The Killers – Mr. Brightside

Oh, yes! This song from 2004 is a classic for the couple’s friends to all sing.  Wait… did I say sing? I wanted to type scream as they jump up and down! The funny thing with this song, the guys group together as do the girls. It’s like an 8th-grade dance where they are afraid to talk to the opposite sex! Totally epic!

2. Tag Team – Whoomp! (There It Is)

I do not know where they were, but they are back again! Young and old all know this song. And they love to sing “Whoop, there it is!” It’s also a dance that they teach you while the song is going on! Grab a 40 and get ready to kick it West-coast style!

3. Frankie Valli – Can’t Take My Eyes Off You

Even before the Jersey Boy took to the stage and big screen, our parents all knew this track and loved to dance and sing to it. Now with that amazing movie, a new generation has learned the sound of Frankie Valli. I love when people are dancing while doing their best trying to match Frankie in this song!

4. Johnny Cash and June Carter – Jackson

The perfect partner-dancing and sing-a-long song! Nothing like this country classic to get people into it. Johnny Cash and June Carter really pumped out a classic that will never die with this one.

5. David Allen Coe – You Never Even Call Me By My Name

Now this is the Perfect Country-Western Song! At one wedding, I even had an actual train pass by when it comes up in the song. I love when people sing “Let me, let me, let me, let me!”.

6. Miley Cyrus – Party In The U.S.A.

I am going to call out the guys on this one. The Boys sing this song much louder than the ladies! We even have a fun remix that make this song even better by dropping in songs by the referenced artists. “And the Brittney song is on!” Make sure to sing that 3 times!

7. Def Leppard – Pour Some Sugar On Me

The glory days of Metal was in fact in the 80’s. This one song is still in its glory days! Many times this song is on my couple’s request list, and is perfect for that air guitar solo on the dance floor!

I have see a tux shirt or two get taken off when the guys really get into singing this one!

8. Michael Jackson – Black Or White

You are already singing this song in your head… if not out loud. That energy will overflow into your event! You might even get someone at your wedding to dance like Michael to this one!

9. OutKast – Hey Ya!

Right from the start… 1.2.3.4! Your guest will sing this song, shake it and get down to that OutKast Atlanta sound! A great song to drop at any point in your dance party and a great way to turn that dance floor up a notch!

10. Earth, Wind & Fire – September

It doesn’t matter if you remember what the 21st of September was, but you will sing about it! FYI, it’s “Ba de ya”- not “On and on”! I am also going to give you the meaning of this song…

The song ‘September’ by Earth Wind & Fire was written about an epiphany. The very elusive subject of enlightenment. Clouds in Eastern culture mean “The Unwise Mind”. The clouds of thought that try to hide the sun from our eyes. Suddenly, you remember it’s recalling this epiphany… that inner happiness will never be taken away. And this song will make you happy!

I hope you enjoyed my Top 10 sing along songs that I love to play at weddings!

I will see you one the dance floor!
