Toasts during a wedding reception can be one of the sweetest, funniest, and most heartfelt moments of the whole celebration. Those that are entrusted to speak can provide an authentic glimpse into the lives of the bride and groom that guests may never get to see otherwise. Here at SE Events, we have been privileged to witness countless moments of toast mastery, and even took that experience to write an informative blog last year about the best ways to make the most out of your wedding toasts.
A few months ago, SE Events was hosting our quarterly DJ training night at our Norcross office (where our entertainment DJ staff collaborates on everything from music to emceeing). This particular evening was focused on speakers and microphones, and it didn’t take long for the subject of toasts to come up. Yes… an experienced wedding DJ can help tremendously with the audio quality of toasts, including proper speaker placement, volume control, a superb microphone, room EQ settings, and more. But much of it lies in the hands of the person who is speaking. For some people who are providing a toast, this may be the first time ever that they have given a speech with a microphone!
Fear not, SE Events is hear to help! Our own DJ Lou has made a quick video tutorial to educate and inform you about the best way to hold and speak into a microphone. Watch and practice now… and then you can focus solely on one thing at that reception… giving the toast of a lifetime!
