What songs will get my party jumping?
Hello again, my dance floor fans! This question is one we hear all the time… what type of music or songs will get my crowd moving on the dance floor? Well, I could tell you that there is a science theory to it. So, I will! Yep, there is a science to it!
First, we look at everyone coming to your wedding (family of the couple, friends of the family, and lastly, friends of the couple). Then we put them into groups by age and where they are from. When were your parents born? How about… when did you go to high school and college? Why these questions? This will give us the music both they and you enjoyed when you grew up! Are you a 90’s baby? Did your parents dance all night to Disco from the 70’s or did they jam out to that great Southern Rock sound? Were your mom and aunts all 80’s girls who just wanted to have fun?
I know, it sounds funny! But when my grandparents were 20 years old they would dance to that great 40’s big band sound. They loved to swing dance! My parents danced to the 50’s and 60’s, hustled in the 70’s, and pretended to like my music in the 80’s! Play the music they like! Yes, a good DJ will mix everything. Old and new!
So here is a list of the top 10 songs requested by past couples. To help you out, I will put the year the song came out next to each song.
