Audio Guest Books
The old style of guest books where a couple’s family and friends add their names or write something cute is going away. Maybe they are just looking for something more fun and different.
This new idea is simple. Pickup the phone and leave a message! I love it. Now you have a recording of all your guests. Imagine, years from now, passing this to the next generation who were not there. They can hear Great Grand Ma, Crazy Uncle Joey, ETC!
Table Photo Game
Here is a fun trend. It’s very interactive. You need a strong MC, a fast photographer, and a couple that will run from table to table.
This is how it goes. The DJ/MC tells all the guests how it works. The couple will be taking photos with each table… with a catch. The DJ will be playing a song, and all table photos must happen during that one song! A good MC will let those tables know to get ready for the couple and not take too much of their time.
I love doing this right after dinner, toast and the cake. It’s a fun way to get everyone involved. And it’s a great way to start the party! All your guest are out of their seats, the juices are pumping, and people are ready to kick that dancefloor off.
Make sure your photographer and DJ is ready and knows your plan!
Couple Final Private Dance
I don’t know how it started. I don’t know who’s idea this was. But it has become a staple to our weddings in 2023.
We all know our happy couple will dance a first dance when the reception starts. All the guests are there, and it’s just magic.
This new trend follows the final last dance. Once the song is over, all guests (and even catering staff) will leave the room. That leaves the photographer, video team, and DJ. The couple then has their “private” last dance. This is very personal for the couple, and a great opportunity to decompress and share a special moment together. It is so sweet!
That’s the three new trends we have seen so far in 2023. I wonder what the future will hold? Will trends that have gone away return? Or will new creative ideas take hold? We will let you know.
