I love Halloween! I love decorating the house. I love dressing up in a different costume each year! I love the TV Shows and Movies! But what I love most is the music!

What could be the best 10 songs for you to play at any Halloween party? I am glad you asked!

Here’s my Top 10 Spooky Dance Floor Songs:

10.Werewolves of London – Warren Zevon The song began as a joke by Phil Everly (of The Everly Brothers) to Zevon in 1975, three years before. Everly had watched a television broadcast of the 1935 film Werewolf of London and “suggested” to Zevon that he adapt the title for a song and dance craze. You can’t help but sing Aaoooooo Werewolves of London Aaoooooo!

9. The Witch Doctor – David Seville You might know that name as the man who created  the Chipmunks! He used the same “speed up” vocals for this smash hit for 1958! Everyone loves singing this song!

8. Who Can it Be Now – Men at Work Are you worried about who might come to your party? Well, play this fun 80’s song, and everyone will think the same thing!

7. The Munster Theme That crazy family from the epic TV show the Munsters, give us all the Happy heebie gibis with that California Beach feel!

6. The Addams Family Here is another classic TV show that made it’s mark again on the big screen! Get those fingers ready to snap! You know you want to right now! Here I will help “They’re creepy and they’re kooky, Mysterious and spooky, They’re all together ooky, The Addams Family.”

5. Ghostbusters – Ray Parker Jr. I ain’t afraid of no Ghost! Back in 1984, there wasn’t a song bigger than this Ray Parker Jr. hit! Play it and see every kid (young and old) feel the Halloween Glory!

4. Dead Man’s Party – Oingo Boingo  Another 80’s classic. That Ska, New wave, Dance Rock feel will get your dance floor moving!

3. Black Magic Woman – Santana Talk about rocking the dance floor. This guitar heavy song will get you singing!

2. Somebody’s Watching Me – Rockwell  Boom! The 80’s dominate this list! Rockwell was the son of  Motown CEO Berry Gordy and the song included superstar and childhood friend of Rockwell, Michael Jackson

Before I hit number one, here are some songs that just didn’t “cut it” Get it? You can add these to your Scary playlist!

This is Halloween – Danny Elfman , (Don’t Fear) The Reaper – Blue Oyster Cult, Time Warp – The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Devil Went Down to Georgia – The Charlie Daniels Band, A Nightmare on My Street – DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Hells Bells & Thunderstruck – AC DC, Sympathy of the Devil – The Rolling Stones &  Running with the Devil – Van Halen.  Oh, just because a song has the word “Boogie” or “Funk” or “Freak” does not make it a Halloween song! LOL

1. Thriller – Michael Jackson! Come on. How can any other song ever top this one! We all do the Zombie dance and the song even had Vincent Price, the crown king of 50’s horror film “Rapping” at the end of the song!
