Looking to add some DJ interaction without doing the Wobble or Electric Slide? Are you planning on not throwing your bouquet? How about a great way to open the dance floor and get all ages involved? Then let me introduce you to the Anniversary Dance!

This fun, interactive, and sweet tradition is a great way to get those couples who might not dance at all to jump up and get on the floor right away.

So you might ask, what is this “anniversary dance”? Oh, it is quite simple. When our DJ goes to start the dancing, we request all the “married” couples join us on the dance floor with the newlyweds! We start off with a classic ballad like “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis or even a new smash like “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. Once all the couples are up, we start the game!

But Lou, what if all the couples just don’t run to the dance floor like you say? That’s when we can make everyone laugh with a timely joke like, “I see all the happy couples, let’s now invite all the unhappy ones to join us!” This always gets a huge laugh and you can see the smiling faces!

We first ask for the coupled married less than 4 hours to leave the dance floor. This again gets a fun smile and laugh from everyone. Then we move to 1 year, 5 years and so on! When that song ends, we play another. Let’s say “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole.  At this point in the game, we should be up to 20 or 25 years together. Then you see the crowd watching, & standing around the dance floor with excitement to see who wins the game. The best scenario is when 2 couples are left and they both are married the same amount of time! We then ask “What month”? We always ask the man and never his bride (and hopefully he has the right answer!). We are left with the couple married the longest, and crowd gives a big cheer! Then the bride can give that couple a gift or even that lady her bouquet. I even ask that couple to give the new couple the “secret” for a long marriage! This is where the fun really happens!!! You might be surprised with some of the funny responses… or just learn a great way to enjoy a long marriage!

Then we can re-open the dance floor with a party song. Everyone is happy and those couples that might just sit there all night just had a great time!

We have many other great ideas just like this for the bride who is looking for something different; just call or email us to ask.
