Wow! What a year!
People danced, ate, drank, and celebrated! Some with and some without masks. Some, virtually. We just DJed a Wedding where the couple tested positive for COVID the day before. We set up a ZOOM room, so their guests could still be at the party and talk with them, with the couple at their home!
But that is not what this blog about!
We are going to list the Top 10 songs for each special part of a wedding. Yes! First dance to last dance!
Here is what our couples picked for each in 2021!!!
Let’s start with the ceremony…
Before we can dance, we must have the “I Do’s”
The Piano Guys have been on top of this list for sometime. We love when we can fade out of the song during the “one step closer” part when the bride is right in front of the groom, face to face.
How about after the ceremony? It’s time for the top 10 recessional songs!
This song can be upbeat, fun, and setting the mood for the reception…
As you can see, Stevie Wonder is the overall champ! American Authors, Hall & Oats, and Chris Brown are pushing to the top. If you have watched “The Office”, then Chris Brown is your pick!
Let’s move to the main ballroom and reception. The Grand Entrance is one of the most fun parts of the wedding. People are screaming and clapping their hands. Your bridal party is dancing in and many are doing some funny things!
Here are the top 10 songs for this upbeat, party-starting event!
T.I. & Jay-Z have a hold on this top spot. I personally love when the couple picks this song!
But look who is second! Yes, Chris Brown. If a couple doesn’t use that song for ceremony, they pick it for the bridal party or themselves!
Now, the couple’s first dance!
Ed Sheeran book-ends this top 10. But look, the classic Elvis song holds the number 2 spot again this year. Remember, don’t just pick a song because it’s a “wedding song”. Pick a song that fits you both!
Parents dances! There is something special about when a bride or groom dances with their Mom or Dad.

When dinner is over, we do the cake cutting. Yes, I love Cake!
The only song I do not agree with is How Sweet It Is. I love the Marvin Gaye version more!

Beyoncé will never not be the number 1 song on this list. But we do have options, ladies!
I enjoy when a bride picks Ludacris!!! “MOVE! Get out the way, get out the way!”
Time for the groom to get on one knee! Yeah baby…
Let’s have some fun with this guys! Just don’t attack the leg and get the garter! LOL!
Then, after we eat, drink, laugh, and sweat, it’s time for the perfect last dance!
You can pick a fun, upbeat song as the last dance, or an easy, slow dance before we get everyone outside for the couple’s exit.
