Bio
Steven,
originally from
Chicago
, found music calling him, rather than a conscious decision
to play. Inspired by legends in all kinds of music, Coltrane,
Hendrix, Santana, Marley, Jobim, & countless others, his
approach is one of an almost religious connection, and goal,
one of touching, & healing, all who listen. His
soulfulness & versatility enables him to excel in many
genres of music, as all music is good, if it IS good, and
“as long as it’s grooving”!
He has performed with an array of well-known artists,
representing a broad musical spectrum. Such greats as George
Benson, Marvin Gaye, Otis Rush, Junior Wells, Mick
Fleetwood, Stephen Stills, Elvin Bishop, groups as The
Neville Brothers, Indigo Girls, and members of Earth, Wind
& Fire, The Crusaders, Hiroshima, Santana, & The
Doobie Brothers. He has opened concerts for Chicago, Joe
Sample, Bob James, Taj Mahal, Herbie Hancock, Alex Bugnon,
Mcoy Tyner, and many others, as well as performing at the
last Crater Festival, inside
Diamond Head
,
Hawaii
.
His credits in the studio include albums, commercials, &
demo work. There have also been appearances & interviews
on various TV & radio stations across the country. A
recently released live CD has garnered much positive
feedback & airplay; while the title track featuring
Steven’s tenor sax on international “space music”
recording artist Jonn Serrie’s CD, “Ixlandia”, has
appeared on several compilations, including “Best of New
Age Music”.
Steven is currently co-hosting a bi-weekly jazz talk show on
WCLK-FM, based in
Atlanta

Ga.
